I’m furious. I’m offended.  And you know what, I’m scared.

The Marines have given the exuse that the troops didn’t know what the flag stood for.  Why don’t I find that a comforting response?  I don’t think it’s necessary to explain why I would be offended by the fact that the Marines were sporting the flag of an army that aimed to systematically nihilate an entire religion, gays and anyone with disabilities.  That’s obvious.  What frightens me is the idea that somehow an absolute lack of a knowledge of history is an excuse.  Our armed forces, whether you like it or not, are a symbol of our nation.  Thus, they have a responsibility to know history.  I don’t expect them to be scholars, but to be so absolutely clueless (which I don’t believe) is an not acceptable.

Ignorance.

Really I’m speachless.
